About the Project:

With both artists traveling from out of town, much of the installation came together on-site, built from reclaimed materials sourced at Recology—San Francisco’s waste transfer station—along with local salvage yards and donation centers such as Building Resources and SCRAP. Additional elements were drawn from past projects and even paper scraps generated during the artwork’s development, weaving recent history directly into the present.

This repurposing introduced an element of chance, as the final form was shaped by whatever materials happened to be available. Each object was given new life, only to eventually return to the earth once the exhibition concluded.
